  • Determine when your Vegas stay will be. Find out if there are any major conventions going on in Vegas. If this is the case, cheap hotels in Las Vegas are rare and become impossible to find. So, be flexible about your dates. Plan a vacation in the middle of the week, when it's cheaper.
  • Decide your length of stay. Some hotels offer Las Vegas packages where a 2 or 3 day stay is a better deal each day than just staying forgone night.
  • Check hotels that are off the strip. Las Vegas strip hotels are typically much more expensive because they're in the center of all the action. Remember that you can always take a cab or a brief walk to visit the strip, depending on your location. The best deals that I've been able to find are hotels that are off the strip and are at walking distance from the strip.
